Khushi Ramlogun: Summer in Brussels, Belgium

Year: Junior
Major/Minor: Marketing/Mass Communication
Program: UF in Brussels – European Studies

Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and why?
I’ve had the opportunity to travel abroad many times throughout my life, as I have family abroad. The majority of my family lives in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean, and I visited them last summer. I have also explored Australia and France.

Have you studied abroad before? If so, where, when, and for what?
This will be my first time studying abroad.

Where are you studying abroad this time and why did you choose this location & program?
I will be going to Brussels, Belgium through the European Studies department. This program appealed to me because I have always been fascinated by the EU and international relations, but haven’t had the chance to take classes concerning those topics at UF. This summer will give me the opportunity to become more informed about these areas, while taking a break from the rigorous business school curriculum.

What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program? What are you most nervous about?
I’m most looking forward to the friendships I will make this summer, and traveling to other countries beyond Belgium. Amsterdam seems incredible, and I cannot wait to explore it, among other cities.

What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I am passionate about singing, writing, and photography, and can’t wait to delve into the latter two this summer as a contributor for this blog!

Anything else you would like us to know about you?
Along with my studies at UF, I’m involved with Swamp Records, GHQ, and I just graduated from the 15th class of the Florida Leadership Academy.
