Rachel Perry: Summer in Eltville, Germany

Year: 4th year
Major/Minor: Pharmacy
Program: Advanced Pharmacy Practical Experience – Eltville

Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and why?
I have traveled as part of a band tour through Europe after my freshman year in undergrad visiting France, England, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. I have also been to the Dominican Republic twice for global health outreach trips where we provide free medical services to various communities in the DR as part of the UF College of Pharmacy.

Have you studied abroad before? If so, where, when, and for what?
This will be my first time studying abroad.

Where are you studying abroad this time and why did you choose this location & program?
My program is in Eltville, Germany and it will be clinical experience in psychiatric pharmacy. I chose this location because I felt that it was a good central location in Europe and would be a good opportunity to explore surrounding areas.

What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program? What are you most nervous about?
I am most looking forward to being able to learn about pharmacy practice in another country as well as meeting new people and eating copious amounts of  FOOD!
I am most nervous about getting lost in a foreign place, but luckily most people will speak English where I am staying, so hopefully, I won’t get too lost!

What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I love traveling, exploring new food, singing, dancing, gymnastics, and baking.
