Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and why?
Yes! I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to over 15 countries. One of my favorite trips was to Cuba last year to see where my grandparents grew up.

Have you studied abroad before? If so, where, when, and for what?
This will be my third time studying abroad! The summer before my freshman year, I spent four weeks studying Spanish language and culture in Barcelona, Spain. The following summer, I spent three months in Madrid, Spain to continue practicing my Spanish. Through the UF in Madrid program, I took business, Spanish language and culture classes.

Where are you studying abroad this time and why did you choose this location & program?
This summer I am studying abroad in Shanghai, China. While I have been able to travel throughout Europe, I have never been to Asia. I chose a program in China because I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and experience a country and culture completely new to me. I chose the CET in Shanghai program because it offers the opportunity to complete an internship and take language and business classes.

What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program? What are you most nervous about?
I am most looking forward to learning about Chinese culture, meeting new people and traveling with my sister, who will be studying at a university an hour outside of Shanghai! I am most nervous about the language barrier, because I have no experience with Mandarin.

What are some of your interests and hobbies?
Some of my hobbies include reading, journaling and playing tennis. In Gainesville, when I’m not at the library, you can usually find me at a coffee shop downtown with friends.

Anything else you would like us to know about you?
One of my main career goals is to work abroad, which is why I wanted to complete an internship while in Shanghai this summer. I am so excited to begin this adventure and be able to share it through this blog!
