- What is your year and academic concentration?
I am currently entering my second year at the University of Florida. I am pursuing a major in International Studies with a focus in Europe, and minors in Arabic Language and Literature and Mass Communication.
- Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and for what purpose?
I have travelled abroad, mainly for vacation purposes. I have visited Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, China, Hong Kong, Tunisia, and several countries in Europe, such as, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
- Have you studied abroad before? If so, where and what did you study?
Although I have travelled to a plethora of countries, I have never studied abroad before!
- Where are you studying abroad and why did you choose to study there?
This summer I will be studying abroad in Fez, Morocco. Although my major is concentrated in Europe, I chose the UF in Fez program because I am learning Arabic and plan to continue with the language until I am fluent. I am eager to learn more about Moroccan culture and broaden my horizons.
- What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program?
Throughout my stay, I plan to visit other cities within Morocco and maybe even travel to Europe. I am excited to meet new people, strengthen my Arabic proficiency, and most importantly, eat Middle Eastern food. I’m also thrilled to meet and work with ALIF faculty as I have heard wonderful things about their hospitality.
- What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I love to write in my free time. I currently write for Society19 and recently had an article featured in the UF Hispanic Communicators Association (HCA) annual magazine. I also LOVE traveling and of course, napping.
- Anything else you would like us to know about you?
I speak English and Spanish fluently and am currently learning Arabic, and I plan to learn at least two more languages in the future.
