- What is your year and academic concentration?
I am a Junior, majoring in Elementary Education and Jewish Studies.
- Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and for what purpose?
My first time out of the country was with a high school spring break trip to to England and France. My love of travel continued with a summer program to Poland and Israel. Following my graduation from high school, I spent a year in Israel studying at a university for a semester and volunteering in a pre-school for a semester. During that year I traveled to Spain and Portugal during Winter Break.
- Have you studied abroad before? If so, where and what did you study?
I studied abroad at Hebrew University in Israel taking a variety of Jewish studies classes while on a gap year program.
- Where are you studying abroad and why did you choose to study there?
I am spending my spring semester studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. I chose to study there because it is an unfamiliar culture and will challenge me to explore myself and my interests. Prague is rich in Jewish history and therefore appeals to my major and my interests. Prague is also centrally located which makes traveling on weekends easy.
- What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program?
I am most looking forward to learning about another culture and lifestyle. I am unfamiliar with European culture and tradition. I am excited to volunteer in a school in Prague in order to immerse myself in the local customs and community. I am also very excited to travel around Europe.
- What are some of your interests and hobbies?
My interests/hobbies include history, travel, hiking, biking, bowling, working with children, working with the elderly, canoeing, exploring new restaurants because I love food, and shopping.
