Christian Pain is a University of Florida student studying abroad this Fall in Madrid, Spain. If you want to learn more about his program, click here: UF in Madrid-Business.
What is your year and field of study?
I am a senior and a public relations major. I will be earning a concentration in business after this abroad program.
Have you traveled abroad before? If so, where and for what purpose?
I have not traveled abroad.
Where are you studying abroad and why did you choose to study there?
I chose to study in Madrid because I am fluent in Spanish and I figured exploring the country’s culture would be a much more enjoyable and enlightening experience without the worry of a language barrier.
What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad program?
I’m excited to see the world outside the states. I want to experience fist-hand these differences in culture everyone seems to hype up. I want to change, modify and expand my perspective on the human experience. Naturally, crossing the Atlantic ocean seemed like a relevant idea.
What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I am very much interested in topics related to metaphysics, historical mysteries and paradigm-shifting archaeological findings. Lately, I’ve been reading Graham Hancock’s work, which I find interesting in an investigative journalistic way. As hobbies, I like to do some spray paint art once in a while, I like to play soccer, as I am an avid follower of the sport, and I enjoy both recreational reading and writing.
